PREFACE
Malnad Progressive Education Society’s Shree DharmasthalaManjunatheshwara College has been imparting higher education to the aspiring students of the region since 1964. The college is proud to have laid a firm foundation of education in the lives of more than 25,000 students so far. The college celebrated its golden jubilee in 2014 and is galloping towards its diamond jubilee. The past students of the college have registered a body called M. P. E. Society’s S. D. M. College PoorvaVidyarthi Sangha in 2019, and are contributing to the development activities of the alma mater.
In the past, the alumni had built a canteen in the college campus at a cost of Rupees one lakh. This building is now being used by the music department of the college. Today, the campus has grown and more than 2000 students are studying in the campus from kindergarten to postgraduate centre. Ours is the only college in the district, which has been reaccredited with “A” grade for three consecutive times.
At the moment, our canteen is very modest and it is our plan to build a canteen that matches the academic standards and student strength of the college. Expert engineers have been consulted and they have given an estimate of Rupees sixty lakh for building a canteen with modern facilities.
Therefore, we request for donations from everyone including the alumni, donors and organisations for this purpose. We seek generous donations from the alumni in particular; we consider it to be an opportunity for them to show their gratitude to the alma mater.
